For the last few days we have been waiting for a reply from the Mayor on whether the revised budget is acceptable and whether to go ahead with making it with the chosen silk. We wanted to wait for confirmation in case he changed his mind and we would have spent £250!
Unfortunately he has been out of office until today and so we are just waiting for the go ahead as we have finished the adaptations to our toile. This is regrettable and a set back but we have revised our work plan around it so as to get the robe ready for first fitting on the 2nd May. After seeing costume makers off my course waiting for measurements for Battle for the Winds for weeks, I understand that this kind of thing happens and as a costume maker you must be flexible and work around them. I have left an answer phone with Hazel, the Mayors secretary and am looking forward to a response.
